This place is famous for the beauty of strange formations like 330m high Tenchuzan and Kengamine and the magnificent natural beauty created by the harmony of clear stream of Makidani river and autumn leaves. The age of granite rock formation and distinctive formations are very unique. Gokei has been listed as national scenic spot in Japan since 1923.

Parking: Free. Space for 75 cars and 3 buses Access: 45 minutes from Okayama Soja interchange by a car. 30minutes from JR Soja station by a car 20 minutes from JR Gokei station by a car The road around Gokei area is closed due to falling rocks. It is being restored now. We are very sorry for your inconvenience. You can come to the parking 500m away from Gokeiji temple. You are allowed to walk from there to Mikaeri Bridge 800m away from the parking. However, it is still under construction from Mikaeri Bridge. Therefore, you can only visit limited area.
