@@ @Bicchu Kagura (sacred music and dancing performed at shrine) National important intangible folk cultural heritage Bicchu Kagura was named after the Kagura performed in the Bicchu area (western part of Okayama prefecture). This is authorized as important intangible folk cultural heritage by Japanese government. After the harvest in fall, people danced all night to wish a good harvest in next year. This mysterious profound style dance based on Japanese myths is known to many people and was handed down generation to generation. Bicchu kagura has many program of dance called gmaih, Kyoku mai, Ryoshin no mai, Ookuninushi no mai, Kotoshironushi no mai, Kushiinada hime no mai, Susanoo no mikoto no mai, Matsuo Myojin no mai, and Orochi taiji no ba and so on. Bicchu Ura Daiko. Bicchu Ura Daiko performs original dance and music using Japanese drum (wadaiko) and Japanese flute in local event as a provincial art of Kibiji. There are programs called gUrah reenacting the battle between Ura and Kibituhiko no mikoto and gNezumi ryuh which based on the legend of Sesshu drawing the nezumi (a mouse) with his tears at Iyama Houfukuji temple. Kibiji Renge Matsuri Day: April 29th Place: Bicchu Kokubunji Content: the day Chinese milk vetch (renge) is in bloom, there are many events at Kokubunji temple. The provincial art is performed. Tea party are held. You can see inside of the first story of five story-pagoda and Komori zuka kofun. There are many other events also held too.  Chikara ishi Soja Day: 4th Sunday of August Place: Sojagu Content: gChikara ishih is stones offered to Sojagu. Kamigatsuji takigi Kyogen Day: mid September Place: Kamigatsuji Plaza Content: Kyogen is a form of traditional Japanese theater. It developed alongside noh. Kyogen is a comical form of theater.
